back from appalacia
hey guys - so i went to eastern kentucky fro my spring break. was a great experience but not very relaxing so i must marshall my remaining strength for the final fight. but secure in the knowledge that my 1-L year is almost over. anyway i worked for the appalachian citizens law center. first project was to draft a complaint to the department of labor asking them to pay the attorney fees for a successful black lung claim. the total was nearly 17,000 dollars or about 2/3 of the annual fees they collect on an average year. Also filed an appelate brief for the widow of a dead miner with the black lung. also tried to come up with a way to get the government to remove this coal under this guy's house that keeps catching on fire. so yeah good times all around. lived on a mountain in mt. tabor in a monestary. last night a bunch of hillbillies set fire to their garbage setting most of oneside of the mountain on fire. thought we might have to flee, but joann (the nun) came back and said everything was ok. in response to ken's querie (sp?) about the ghost thing - once when i was about 10 or so I woke up in the middle of the night and like couldn't move my mouth or like get out of bed. freaked me out. started banging on the bed with my arms until my mom came in. not sure if i was still partially dreaming or what... creepy indeed.
so yeah think i will be living in beuafort north carolina by the beach this summer. should be grand!
oh yeah ken - here's the real test. just sort of try and cry a little around her and see if she responds: "why does it cry smegal?"
oh yeah before i left, watched selected best scenes of LOTR with some friends. in particular ; "where is the horse and the rider?" i've been saying that to myself over and over again. also showed my friends Transformers the movie. there is another person here who is obsessed with the unicron lines. "i have summoned you here ... forapurpose"
me in court one day: one shall stand and one shall fall
oppossing attorney: why throw away your life so recklessly counselor?
me: that's a question you should ask yourself!
